Early start no2 Stone Slalom. Arrive in time for a bit of a practice run for Dan, lots of folks attending including a large welsh contingent. Midland did very well particularly as it was their first try at slalom and they were racing in slow fat boats. Results here

1236m on the rowing machine this morning but no treadmill today. Home for some lunch then out with Peggy to make the most of a glorious sunny day. A trip to Chasecliffe for a short walk and little bouldering.

Office first thing before heading to the Hospital for my appointment with the Gastroentrologist. Not the best experience so far. Didn't feel as if the doctor was actually listening to what I said, particularly as I could see the notes she took didn't correspond what I'd just told her. Anyhow I'm sure she knows her stuff and I've been booked in for a Gastroscope which should confirm if I have any stomach damage remaining from the NG tube or medication. I also had several tubes of blood taken for a number of test - ESR, Ferritin, Vitamin B12, Serum Folate, Anti Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies, Full Blood Count, U/E, C-Reactive Protein, Liver Function Tests.

A lovely sunny day. Shiatsu planned for one so decided to miss out on the Heavy Workshop as still feeling a little tired and nipped into town instead for a coffee. Arrived to find Shiatsu had been cancelled at the last minute so headed home to sit in the garden with Peggy a bit. Resisted the temptation to head out, although it looked like a perfect afternoon for the grit. Evening trip out to Alport Heights to view the moon, Dan to make a brew on his new stove and launching of a sky lantern.

Happy Birthday Dan.
After an early start to allow the unwrapping of presents morning in the office before trip to the Royal to see Dr Brain for another long chat. I suppose it was good in some respects that I wasn't feeling too great. Outcome . . . we'll we have to see what the Gastroentrologist says next week before I go back on any medication.
Home for fish fingers, Colin the Caterpillar and a viewing of Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, all very enjoyable.

A beautiful day. Although I have the week off from Heavy Workshop I resisted the temptation to head out onto the grit today. Time to rest for the next few days in Saltburn. Did however nip down to the Arboretum and had a quick play on the boulder before having an ice cream. It'll be a good gauge of how strong I'm feeling as today I could only manage half the problems I'd done previously.

Visit to the GP first thing to discuss stopping all my medication. Can't see any justification at the moment so will try without, see if there is any lessening of fatigue and stomach discomfort then discuss the way forward with my consultant in a couple of weeks time. Pointed out the ridge that has appeared in my left thumb nail and the GP went in search of his notes as he couldn't remember the name for them. A quick google suggests its Beau's lines formed two to three months ago according to the GP, so perhaps not a remnant of the stroke?
Allotment this morning in the drizzle to plant rhubarb, raspberry bushes and fruit trees. Gooseberry bushes next. Looking forward to fruit crumbles. Afternoon and evening in front of the fire.

Half an hour trying to make an appointment to see the GP this morning, earliest appointment I can get is Saturday. Strongly tempted to stop taking medication before then. Visit to the allotment to deliver a cold frame, daffodils are looking good and the pond is nearly full. Picked up Lottie's laptop which has been repaired then trip to Allestree Park with Lottie, Peggy an aerobie and Dan and his grass board.
Dan has the new tent erected in his bedroom, doesn't look too bad for something so lightweight and a bargain at under half price.
