A lovely sunny day. Shiatsu planned for one so decided to miss out on the Heavy Workshop as still feeling a little tired and nipped into town instead for a coffee. Arrived to find Shiatsu had been cancelled at the last minute so headed home to sit in the garden with Peggy a bit. Resisted the temptation to head out, although it looked like a perfect afternoon for the grit. Evening trip out to Alport Heights to view the moon, Dan to make a brew on his new stove and launching of a sky lantern.

Happy Birthday Dan.
After an early start to allow the unwrapping of presents morning in the office before trip to the Royal to see Dr Brain for another long chat. I suppose it was good in some respects that I wasn't feeling too great. Outcome . . . we'll we have to see what the Gastroentrologist says next week before I go back on any medication.
Home for fish fingers, Colin the Caterpillar and a viewing of Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief, all very enjoyable.

A beautiful day. Although I have the week off from Heavy Workshop I resisted the temptation to head out onto the grit today. Time to rest for the next few days in Saltburn. Did however nip down to the Arboretum and had a quick play on the boulder before having an ice cream. It'll be a good gauge of how strong I'm feeling as today I could only manage half the problems I'd done previously.

Visit to the GP first thing to discuss stopping all my medication. Can't see any justification at the moment so will try without, see if there is any lessening of fatigue and stomach discomfort then discuss the way forward with my consultant in a couple of weeks time. Pointed out the ridge that has appeared in my left thumb nail and the GP went in search of his notes as he couldn't remember the name for them. A quick google suggests its Beau's lines formed two to three months ago according to the GP, so perhaps not a remnant of the stroke?
Allotment this morning in the drizzle to plant rhubarb, raspberry bushes and fruit trees. Gooseberry bushes next. Looking forward to fruit crumbles. Afternoon and evening in front of the fire.

Half an hour trying to make an appointment to see the GP this morning, earliest appointment I can get is Saturday. Strongly tempted to stop taking medication before then. Visit to the allotment to deliver a cold frame, daffodils are looking good and the pond is nearly full. Picked up Lottie's laptop which has been repaired then trip to Allestree Park with Lottie, Peggy an aerobie and Dan and his grass board.
Dan has the new tent erected in his bedroom, doesn't look too bad for something so lightweight and a bargain at under half price.

Feeling tired this morning so only went for a very short session at Heavy Workshop before going for Shiatsu. Then home for some sofa time and an early night. Lottie and Dan have broken up today for a fortnight so its doubly frustrating. Suspect its partly due to the fact I've started taking diypridamole again which I remember caused headaches when I first began taking it.

Shiatsu this morning, too relaxed for any exercise straight after, so home for a cup of tea and sit on the sofa. Afternoon trip to the climbing wall for a little exercise. Tired afterwards but hopefully the sort of tired I'll recover from quickly.
I've received a letter from the Trent Dysphagia Special Interest Group asking me to give a talk on Dysphagia following a stroke. They are interested in the perspective of an 'expert patient'. Its not until June so I've time to give it a little thought.
Another Lovely Eggs album released on spotify so time for a February selection I think.

Trip to see my doctor this morning to get the results of the ultrasound. No problem with my stomach but apparently the ultrasound showed five small lesions in my liver, nothing to worry about according to the GP but now they've found them they'll need to do another test or two just to be on the safe side. The GP has seen similar things in folk who have been overseas for a while so he suggested it could be the result of damaged caused in 1991 when I was in Nepal, or an Hepatic Hemangioma. Nothing to worry about and they generally go unnoticed.
Heavy Workshop consisted of exercise bike, cross trainer and swiss ball exercises and a catchup chat. They are looking to up my programme a little so that's good news.
Dog walk around Horsley Castle this afternoon then Parent Consultation at Landau Forte before heading home to do some work.

Trip to Newark today, quick walk round the castle before meeting up with Karin, Rachel and family at Pizza Express. Suitably full of pizza back to Winthorpe to throw tennis balls for the dogs and chocolate based puddings. Then back home in time to watch the end of Napoleon Dynamite before catching up on The Killing.

A little work then heavy workshop 5 mins cross trainer, 5 mins air bike, swiss ball dumbbell fly, swiss ball dumbbell chest press, swiss ball dumbbell pull over, swiss ball rotator cuff, swiss ball dips, 5 mins rowing machine (another metre 1266m) and then a steady 10 mins on the treadmill. Short dog walk in the afternoon and 10 mins on the finger board - beginning to notice some improvement here, managed to hang the poor slopers for the first time in a year only 6 seconds but its a start. Airplane and Run Fat Boy Run evening viewing with Lottie and Dan, as Karin is over in Newark.
